- 국립고궁박물관, 인공지능 기반의 지능형 전시안내로봇 사업 착수 -

  문화재청 국립고궁박물관(관장 김동영)은 인공지능 기반의 전시해설로봇 구축 사업에 착수한다.

  국립고궁박물관은 개관 15주년을 맞아 전시 해설에 인공지능과 자율주행 등 첨단 디지털 기술을 접목시킨 로봇을 도입하는 정부 혁신사업을 추진해 코로나19 상황에 맞는 방역 기능까지 겸비한 인공지능(AI)기반의 지능형 전시안내 로봇해설사 3대를 도입하기로 했다. 로봇해설사는 관람객들에게 디지털 신기술을 기반으로 한 새로운 형태의 비대면 전시해설을 제공할 것이다.
  * 로봇해설사 제작ㆍ콘텐츠 개발(6∼10월), 인공지능 강화를 위한 시범운영 및 개선점 보완(10∼11월), 정상운영(12월)

  오는 12월부터 전시 현장에 투입되는 로봇해설사는 우선 한국어로만 전시 해설을 하게 되며, 내년 말 부터는 다국어 (영·중·일) 해설과 실감형 콘텐츠 도입 등 지속적인 고도화 과정을 거칠 계획이다.

  문화재청 국립고궁박물관은 전시해설로봇 도입으로 디지털 기술 기반 전시해설 콘텐츠를 활용하여 관람객에게 볼거리를 제공하고 코로나19 이후 시대 흐름에 맞춰 비대면 전시해설 체계를 구축할 계획이다.

The National Palace Museum of Korea (Director: Kim Dong-Young) is launching a project to develop artificial intelligence-equipped robots to serve as docents for exhibitions.
 

The National Palace Museum of Korea is making plans to develop and introduce robots based on advanced technology including artificial intelligence and autonomous mobility to provide exhibition guidance services. This is to be a leading project in the Cultural Heritage Administration’s movement towards a digital transformation of cultural heritage in conjunction with the central government’s efforts at promoting innovation.

The National Palace Museum of Korea is welcoming professional docent robots to enhance the visitor’s experience at the museum using their rich digital resources. The new robot exhibition guides will be adopted to cater for the need of contact-free exhibition tour in the post COVID-19 era.

The robots will be deployed in galleries in December 2021 and will continue to be updated with advancements such as multilingual services (English, Chinese, and Japanese) and immersive content.
