올해 사업비 52억 원 투입해 룩소르 문화유산 및 라메세움 탑문 복원정비 등 추진 예정

  문화재청 한국전통문화대학교(총장 강경환)는 지난해에 이어 올해에도 문화재청이 추진하는 공적개발원조(ODA) 사업 중 하나인 ‘이집트 문화유산 보존·관리 지원사업’의 민간위탁 사업자로 선정되었다.

‘이집트 문화유산 보존·관리 지원사업’은 이집트 문화유산에 대한 지속가능한 보존·관리·활용을 위한 기술지원과 역량강화를 통해 문화유산 분야의 국제위상 제고를 목적으로 한다.

앞서 한국전통문화대학교는 지난해 4월 문화재청으로부터 이집트 문화유산 공적개발원조(ODA) 사업을 위탁받아 라메세움 배경정보 수집 및 관람동선 계획, 룩소르박물관 디지털 콘텐츠 제작 기획, 라메세움 탑문 3D 형상화, 룩소르박물관 전시공간 디지털 콘텐츠 기획 및 신설 협의, 이집트 관광유물부 데이터베이스 현황 및 기록화 대상 유물 분석, 긴급 보존 대상 유물 분석, 데이터 저작권 허가 최초 획득 등의 성과를 이룬 바 있다.

올해에는 52억 원의 사업비를 투입하여 룩소르 문화유산의 보존·관리·활용 및 복원정비 계획을 수립하고, 문화유산 지능형(스마트) 전시설계 수립 및 룩소르박물관 소장 유물의 디지털화를 할 계획이다.
그리고, 라메세움 탑문의 복원을 위한 실측과 지반안전진단, 구조안정성 검토, 3차원 모형화(3D 모델링) 등의 디지털기록화를 하고, 디지털 헤리티지 센터 내 기자재 지원과 장비설치 등 시설 구축, 디지털 헤리티지 취득 지침 공동연구, 기록유산 디지털화 작업 및 전시물 제작, 이집트 내 문화유산 분야 종사자의 초청연수 및 현지기술 교육 등의 사업도 연말까지 추진할 것이다.

문화재청 한국전통문화대학교는 적극행정의 일환으로, 이번 사업을 통해 이집트의 문화유산 보존관리 역량을 강화할 수 있도록 지원할 예정이며, 더 나아가 다양한 한국형 문화유산 관련 기술의 확산과 한-이집트 문화유산 협력강화 등 국제사회의 지속가능한 발전에 이바지할 계획이다.

The Korea National University of Cultural Heritage (KNUCH; President Kang Kyung-hwan), affiliated with the Cultural Heritage Administration(CHA), has been selected as a private contractor for the 'Egyptian Cultural Heritage Preservation and Management Support Project', one of the official development assistance (ODA) projects promoted by the CHA., continuing from last year.

This project aims to enhance Korea's international reputation in cultural heritage through technical support and capacity building for the sustainable conservation, management, and utilization of Egyptian cultural heritage.

In April of last year, KNUCH was commissioned by the CHA for the 2023 Egyptian Cultural Heritage ODA Project. Achievements from the previous year included tasks such as collecting background information, planning visitor routes for the Ramesseum, planning digital content production for the Luxor Museum, 3D modeling of the Ramesseum's pylon, planning and negotiating the establishment of digital content for the Luxor Museum's exhibition space, analyzing the status and documentation targets of artifacts in the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities database, analyzing artifacts identified for urgent conservation, and obtaining initial permission for data copyright.

This year, with a budget of 5.2 billion KRW, the university will carry out projects until December, including the conservation, management, and restoration plan for the Luxor cultural heritage, formulation of a smart cultural heritage exhibition design and digitalization of the Luxor Museum, restoration and conservation of the Ramesseum's pylon (including measurements, ground safety diagnosis, structural stability assessment, and 3D modeling for digital documentation), facility construction within the Digital Heritage Center (including equipment installation supported by materials), joint research on guidelines for acquiring digital heritage, digitalization of recorded heritage, production of digital data-based exhibition items, and hosting training and on-site technical training.

As part of its proactive administration, KNUCH intends to support the enhancement of Egypt's capabilities in cultural heritage conservation and management through this project and further contribute to the sustainable development of the international community by actively participating in various Korea-style cultural heritage techniques.
